Annie Meyer creates resonant landscapes utilizing two very distinct media, ceramics and oil on paper. Meyer’s works on paper enlist a color palette of warm hues. Painting from outdoor art excursions in the French countryside, Meyer’s chose this radiant palette as a reaction to the cool rain experienced in her local environment. Her dog Tash, rescued from the streets of Paris, rides along in many pieces from the French Landscape series.

Landscapes reminiscent of the works on paper also appear on ceramic tiles. Multiple thin washes of glaze built up over repeated firings conveys a depth of field. The fullness of the artist’s perception present in her solitary landscapes captivates the viewer.
