ARTIST STATEMENT
When I enter my studio I feel that I put myself behind me and enter the vast emptiness out of which art may be made. I step away from myself and into another world where my intuitive sense leads the paint, molding paste, composition gold leaf, flowers, letters, orbs of gel, cord and cloth to reproduce poems, dreams, labyrinths, and abstractions. The emptiness is rich with possibilities, imperfections, darkness and light. I end up with objects that are meant to be looked at, taken in with the eyes, things permeable and enigmatic. I hope the work creates a response in the viewer as he/she completes the creative circle of the artistic process. |
