Concrete Sculpture

What's New in the

ARTIST STATEMENT
Concrete Sculpture:

My work is driven by process. Raw material is gathered, selected and manipulated to create further material. It is combined and reworked until the final piece is completed. The act of involvement with the materials ultimately dictates the final form. This series incorporates glass fragments encased in glass within concrete. The series explores balance: between containment as comfort versus confinement, what is kept secret versus how much is revealed and the fragility of glass against the strength of concrete.

Concrete Paintings:

This series was born as a result of creating the larger concrete sculptures. Left-over concrete was poured into small molds to become small canvas blocks. Spontaneous in concept, these small works utilize every surface. Most pieces are placed on small easels or placed flat on a surface.
